Background The PICMG 2.20 Serial Mesh backplane specification is ratified. It is a PICMG 2.0 (base CompactPCI), PICMG 2.16 (cPSB), and 2.17 (StarFabric) compatible specification. The spec eliminates the H.110 across the P4 section of the backplane and utilizes the ZD connector for high-speed serial mesh traffic via two LVDS pairs. It supports mulitple simultaneous traffic protocols like ATM, IP, Frame Relay, GRPS, and more. The backplane data capacity is up to 700 Gbps.
