Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded
Computing introduces the VPX3-127, a small form factor 3U VPX single
board computer (SBC) that combines Freescale’s 8641PowerPC processer,
and an extensive I/O complement to provide a highly capable processing
platform for a wide range of embedded military/aerospace applications.
Designed for space constrained applications, the VPX3-127 represents
the latest step in the evolution of rugged high-performance, highly
integrated small form factor Single Board Computers. The VPX3-127's
integral high-speed backplane and PMC/XMC connectivity allows for
multi-GB/sec data flows from board-to-board through the backplane
interface and from the backplane to PMC/XMC site supporting the
acquisition, processing, and distribution of sensor data such as
video, radar, and sonar data. A rich I/O complement includes two
gigabit Ethernet ports, 4 serial channels, up to 8 bits of discrete
digital I/O, a Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 port and a PMC/XMC
site with 64 bits of IO mapped to the backplane.

Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing introduces the VPX3-1100
ATOMIC, a 3U VPX low power, high performance PC-compatible development
platform based on the Intel® ATOM™ Z530 chipset and the Intel® US15W
System Hub Controller (SCH). Curtiss-Wright’s VPX3-1100 ATOMIC can
be used to rapidly develop advanced low power or highly secure electronic
systems such as Rugged-Mobile Internet Devices (R-MIDs), secure
radios, man-packs, wearable electronics, vetronics, in-vehicle networking,
telematics, situational awareness systems, graphics systems, embedded
robotics and electronic vehicle health monitoring systems. With
Curtiss-Wright’s 2LM-ATS Perimeter Defense technology, Curtiss-Wright
enables systems integrators to build secure rugged defense applications
that need to protect sensitive information, encryption keys, Intellectual
Property (IP), or protect against tampering and reverse engineering
at the modular blade level. The VPX3-1100 ATOMIC uses carefully
selected industrial grade components and provides a wealth of I/O
options including: 2x PCI Express® (PCIe), 2x GbE, 2x RS232, 2x
USB, 8x GPIO, VGA, Audio (Mic, L, R) and an XMC expansion site.
The XMC expansion site can be used to include a XMC Multi-Function
Wireless (MFW) module that supports 802.11n a/b/g, Zigbee and a
GPS location tracking system. In addition, the XMC-MFW has an independent
cryptographic engine that can be used to encrypt/decrypt and authenticate
data over the GbE interfaces by leveraging standards based NIST
approved algorithms.
